Come on, the whole plot of Panic Room was one big cliche. Jodie Foster and her estranged daughter move into some fancy house with a Panic Room installed, just in case some bad person breaks in. So what happens? The next night three guys break in looking for loads of cash? And where is the cash stashed? That's right. In the Panic Room, where Jodie Foster and brat have taken refuge. And of course, one of the bad guys is a black guy with a conscience.... yawn... so fucking Hollywood and so disgustingly politically correct.

And the kicker, at the end of the movie, mother and daughter have become closer as a result of their traumatic experience. And I'm not even going to get into the blatant product placement.

The film was short on originality and riddled with laughable cliches and holes in the plot you could drive a truck through. In short, the movie was second rate.
well, you make some good points, BUT, of course some things must be overlooked to keep a movie entertaining. Its like this...in scary movies people always split up, which makes them easier to kill. this is a known fact, yet they still do this in all scary movies. also, in movies when crime happens, no one waits for the cops, they all try and be a hero. Cops always arrive at the end, they never help it seems. Some things are made that way in order to enhance the plot. They may be obvious and too hollywoodish, but the point is it must be entertaining.
