Yeh, I was stationed at Homestead AFB, FL quite a few years ago, we had some permanently assigned reservist F-16 units that flew there.
I looked out my window today when they passed over. I only caught a glimpse but they did look small enough to be f-16s and sure sounded like it...but like I said, I could be wrong.
I'm not sure what commitments Vandenburg has other than spacecom stuff, could have been a few birds going home to a base up north somewhere.
Was cool to see & hear for sure...I actually miss living around an AFB on occasion.
