Early on I spent alot of time on the boards talking about stupid things. Giving my opinion on things I did not know very well at the time. I realized I spent so much time on the boards that I was not getting anything constructive done for my business. So I stopped posting. I read the boards often but only threads that were constructive.

Some of the biggest talkers only talked to get known. They tried to build their business by creating noise on the boards. I think this is one of the strangest networking strategies I have ever seen. Insulting people, creating threads about stupid things, basically being a character to try to attract business.
