The issue is that once it is shot in HD, I don't think you can have dual encodes on it (meaning, you can't offer your consumers both). However, I recently heard that one of the new HD cams will do it.
I can't see any producer turning down buying their own HD camera if you are going to order enough work.

Very true.
I have 1/2 of the people I shoot for wanting HD, and the other 1/2 do not. Some want letter box, some do not. It's a pain really, but as of now I'm sticking where I'm at with my VX2100 (a very rugged cam, great for shooting on the road). If
everyone wants HD, I will pony up and get a new cam, but I'm not looking forward to it.
