4) The first step would have been contacting GFY with a C&D to remove the defamatory remarks. The fact you and your "lawyer" have waited so long to do so shows it really didn't effect your business that much. Not to mention that your gripe would be more against GFY than him considering the defamatory remark is on their board and their servers.

5) Truth is the best defense against libel. If he took him to court and he didn't show, end of story.

6) Finally, quit with the bullshit. You aren't suing him. Not only would it cost way more than you'd ever see from a victory, you have zero grounds and any competent lawyer will laugh in your face.
