The Soviet Union gets recognition for their efforts during WWII in Russia and other countries that sided with the Soviet Union during the Cold War. They do not give America much credit, just like American schools do not give much, if any, credit to the Soviets. It's cold war propaganda. In 1950's USA they couldn't be teaching about how the Soviet Army destroyed the Germans at Stalingrad. Just like the Soviets couldn't teach how we whipped the fuck out of the Japanese.
