Seems apparent that you have never been there. I have. And My mother in law still lives there. She is a doctor, and makes a grand total of 17$ a month. Yep thats it. And it costs her and her husband who is under mandatory retirment, at least 55$ a month to have the basic things that they need to survive.
Medicine in Cuba is some of the best in the world. And their food is not all preservatives like in the US. So they do live longer. But they are NOT doing all right.
