Like Caz and Milan mentioned, you really need some "beef" if you want to do it right the first time, which usually means shelling out a little more green. A lot of people aren't prepared to do this the first time around and run into troubles once their servers get a little traffic, as you know.
We have several customers that have "networks" of FHG servers, load-balanced to handle several hundred mbits. You probably aren't ready for something like that quite yet, but a Dual Xeon with a fair amount of RAM and a good hard drive or two would be a great start and prove better overall performance.
Please feel free to email me at
[email protected] or ICQ me at 147479144 and I'd be happy to tell you what Phat Servers can do for you. I have a special going on the Dual Xeon boxes right now that you'll want to take advantage of.
