Last April, I was working out my legs on the incline leg press, going strong. At 8 reps, my legs failed out of the blue, and I was so confident in the lift that I had my hands holding the back of the sled versus on my knees to spot me.
It dropped down and brought my knees to my ears. I had to wiggle out. I found out a week later from an MRI that I ripped my L5, which in turn set the nerves whacko in my legs. I had maybe 30 percent use of my legs for a good part of the year, and only Jan did I get 90 percent use again, to finally back to normal about 3 or 4 months ago.
I had a spotter, to help, but him at 185, and really couldn't do much with 10 plates on each side.
