Hell yes, I sprinted with my sandals on to the gate and tore open several of my cuts. They STILL hurt.
I did not want to walk through the detector barefoot because the floor is a breeding ground for bacteria. I ALWAYS wear sandals when I fly because SOME airports allow me to walk through the detector with them on... they do not have metal so they do not set it off. Easy to pass. The ports that want you to remove shoes, I ask for a hand inspection, no problem. Until now.
