Doesn't anyone here have a for-instance of their own to tell?

A friend of mine who makes his living as a showman regulary performs the following "trick" with over a 90% success rate.......
Every day for 7 days prior to one of his performances he purchases and reads cover to cover a daily newspaper and memorises every word, ( yes his memory really is
that good ).
On the night of his show he randomly picks 7 members of the audience to come up on stage and to each he gives 1 copy of the 7 newspapers that he has purchased and read in the previous 7 days.
He then instructs them to to spend a few minutes scanning through the newspapers, ( while his back is turned ), and then for each to pick out a random sentence from anywhere in the newspaper of around 10 - 15 words and write it down on a peice of paper that they have been given.
Then he asks another member of the audience to select one of the 7 participants he has on stage and to collect from the selected participant a sealed envelope with that persons randomly selected sentence writen inside and hold it high in the air for all to see.
Next the showman focus's his mind for a moment before speaking out loud the sentence that he belives is contained in the sealed envelope and then asks the person holding up the envelope to open it and tell him whether he is right or wrong.
In at least 90% of the occasions he performs this trick he gets it
word for word accurate , ( the participant who's envelope is selected is then asked to confirm what he had written to show there has been no slight of hand involved )
My friend has been performing this trick for several years now, ( I can assure anyone that there is
no slight of hand involved ), yet still cannot fully explain how he does it, however he does suspect that there is some sort of telepathy or thought suggestion involved operating at a subconscious level.
