The dude is dating the girl, and presumably has an emotional attachment to her. The girl may be free to lie to him and cheat on him, and thereby both hurt and insult him, but it's still a sleazy thing to do for her. Now, any guy who knowingly participates in that, is intentionally hurting and insulting someone merely for the chance to get laid.
It's like being a rude, obnoxious asshole - sure, it's legal, but that doesn't make it a good thing.
