i dont have a problem with myself. i am not obese and weight is not an issue for me. i know what good eating habits are. i know what i need to be eating everyday. i know how to eat to lose/control/maintain/gain weight with or without exercise or lifting weights. i know almost exactly how many calories or grams of fat/carbs/protein is in anything i eat from many years of keeping logs. i dont blame anyone or anything else when i need to lose 20 pounds... because i know what needs to be done and i know whats wrong when somethings wrong.
my problem begins when people start saying "its not my fault". thats not only doing a tremedous disservice to themselves, but it tells others that also need to lose weight to be healthy that they should be looking for excuses and not solutions. its really disturbing watching people (mostly women) come into the gym because they want to lose weight and hire a personal trainer.. then do absolutely nothing they're told, eat everything they shouldn't eat, give 50% effort in any exercise they do.. then watch them start comfortably explaining that they "know" why they are obese and listen to them casually list all the BS reasons for it... and then dissapear after 3 weeks of a less than spectacular effort.
i am personally tired of a country of people that take no personal responsibility for anything anymore. whether is because their kids are out shooting people, because they weigh 400 pounds or whatever.
i am tired of a world where suddenly eating too much, eating the wrong foods, not exercising and doing nothing but sitting around all day watching oprah is now a "disease".
i am tired of a world where people eat themselves into obesity and then sue a fast food restaurant.
many years ago, i was visiting my friend in seattle. he had one college nutrition class that he needed to go to, then he was free for the day. i decided to go with him. there was fat girl in there with a bag of potato chips, drinking a coca cola making all these same arguements about how she has all these reasons why she's fat. meanwhile, during that class alone as she was making these retarded arguments, she ate more than 1/2 her daily caloric requirements, all from useless foods. i kept thinking to myself that it would be pure comedy if it wasn't such a typical behavior.
