Artman, anyone can that's why they are called Initial PUBLIC offering. IPO
Most stocks that go IPO
get listed on a 'board' to have the value of the shares reviewed and brokers commit to the sales volume they can do and bench marks are set for stock offerings and amount of shares one can buy...
generally most stocks limit you to the amount you purchase.
example: visa IPO will be like 10,000 share's minuim buy. So you would have to use a broker who can buy 10,000 shares and sell to 5 people 2,000 shares each, if you can not buy 10,000 shares yourself or have a seat on the stock exchange ;-) most keep it in the familiy or firm (The Seat)
VISA IPO offering will be on the board within 6-8 months from today... and I hope ready for purchase...
We should create an 'Adult Hedge Fund'
let's get 10 GFY users to all put in 5-10 k each to create a 50-100k buy in for our FUND.... lol
number in powers... let's get 100 GFY to put in 5k each = $500,000. buy in... we would be able to buy in off the board and maybe make a point or 2 if the stock goes up the first day, most IPO's that are Great like this will do well ;
