its not turning off the seatbeat system its just turning off the audio alert. pretty much all cars with computers have preset features that can be turned on or off. another example would be the auto door lock when your car gets up to 10mph another on/off feature. the seat belt light on the dash will still be there though.

i do suggest wearing your seatbelt cause if you get in an accident the car will record your spend, and if your belt was on. pretty much all mid to high end cars do that now. just in case you try to sue the car company
