(BANG) - British comic actor Sacha Baron Cohen has landed a new $54 million film deal to bring his camp alter-ego Bruno to life on the big screen.
Sacha - who has caused controversy as the sexist and anti-Semitic Kazakh TV reporter Borat in his latest movie - is convinced the deal with Universal Studios will make Bruno, an extreme Austrian fashion fanatic, just as popular.
A source said: "Borat set the cat among the pigeons but Bruno will push things much further. He'll be going into the heart of the US redneck community to ask about really personal things. People in many parts of the States are not used to getting cosy with camp foreigners so the fur will fly!"
Bruno - portrayed by Sacha as "the voice of Austrian youth TV" - first sparked outrage when he appeared on the 'Ali G Show' TV series in the UK.
His antics included asking a clergyman what kinds of gay behaviour were accepted in the Bible.

Sacha's antics have so far outraged the leaders of Kazakhstan, anti-racism and anti-Semitism groups and gay and lesbian rights activists.
