To each his/her own, Roc - it's all about perspective

In reality, I'm 35 miles outside of "LA" - about 15 - 30 minutes from any part of "the SF valley" or Hollywood and most of my business meetings ... but I hear what you're saying

I'm close enough to enjoy the advantages I perceive that LA has to offer - weather, resturaunts, nightlife, beaches, culture, etc. - yet outside enough to agree somewhat with what you're saying!
  1. My kids are in a great private school.
  2. I work from home and choose when to take meetings so I avoid most traffic.
  3. Own my home and can afford not to worry about what some term a high cost of living.
  4. I live in one of the safest cities in the nation
