Since this week I get tons of complaints that customers which has servers at our place cant reach any of the companies above and the other way around. When I looked into this I couldnt indeed connect to any of the ips of Idealbandwidth/OrangeFiber/Alphared from our side and from servers of which I have the login details I couldnt reach any of the AdultEUhost ip-addresses.
In the past year we moved tons of customers away from Idealbandwidth/OrangeFiber/Alphared to us and last week (just before the blocking started) we moved a 200 Mbps customer again from them to us. Ofcourse that should not matter but just to give you a clue of why they blocked us.
Customers contacted Idealbandwidth/OrangeFiber/Alphared support and got responses like:
"We will not allow that hosting company to disrupt our network"
"...The reason that it is not connecting to the db is that there is a block in place on the IP range owned by AdultEUhost due to unethical actions by resellers that negatively effecting our network...."
Mmm that is interessting
So I contacted their support which wasnt very helpfull either, see the icq log below. In the end he told me to call their network engineer, so I did. In the conversation I was told Idealbandwidth/OrangeFiber/Alphared would never block ips. At the end it was like oohhh you are from AdultEUhost, yeah we blocked you for spamming extremepaychecks. I had to contact James the company CEO about this and send an email. To my response emailing was impossible since our mailservers are blocked too the solution was we had to use hotmail then or so.
The other guy in the converence call probably noticed we were not a customer and probably wasting their time. He asked if we were a customer at all, as the anwser is no ofcourse it resulted in the fact I got hangup directly.
It seems pretty obvious that it isnt because of some spamming otherwise why should I contact the CEO for that?
The fact you start blocking other ISPs after they move customers away from you is absolutely not the way to act. It will have direct negative consequences for the Internet and customers of Idealbandwidth/OrangeFiber/Alphared and ofcourse ours.
In case there was a problem with spamming it is very common to contact the other ISP to make it stop instead of just blocking the entire ISP. We have a 24/7 NOC, all abuse contact details are listed in RIPE and on the websites. And ofcourse it also doesnt make any sense at all to block all IPs instead of just blocking the IPs in this matter.
I will never go public with anything about any other ISP or talk bad about someone but this is just ridiculous. Idealbandwidth/OrangeFiber/Alphared act as a ISP and take care of your customers instead of blocking each ISP they possibly might move to.

I have a question
AdultEUhost - Leon (07:14 PM) :
I have tons of complaints from customers of us that all connectivity between AdultEUhost and Alphared is blocked. I have looked into it and it is indeed the case.
First question: why is this done?
Second question: what do you want to accomplish wit this?
Third question: don't you think this is a fuck upped way to do business?
No i have asked one of the customers to contact your support and he got this response:
"We will not allow that hosting company to disrupt our network"
So that makes me wondering what we did then besides moving customers from your company to ours
AlphaTech01 (07:15 PM) :
go ahread
AdultEUhost - Leon (07:16 PM) :
Well it would be nice if you can comment on my three questions
AdultEUhost - Leon (07:16 PM) :
as this is ofcourse not the correct thing to do
AdultEUhost - Leon (07:16 PM) :
besides the fact you obvisiously want to block me you are also creating problems for your current customers
AdultEUhost - Leon (07:22 PM) :
do i was wondering what is happening over there and why you blocked all of our IPs
AlphaTech01 (07:23 PM) :
we don't have any report that your IPs has been blocked
AlphaTech01 (07:23 PM) :
do you have evidences sir?
AdultEUhost - Leon (07:24 PM) :
ofcourse otherwise I wouldnt ask you, I just logged in to a server of a customer of yours and tried to ping ips from several ranges of us, all IPs dont work
AlphaTech01 (07:24 PM) :
can you give me a sample IP please?
AlphaTech01 (07:24 PM) :
so we can test it from here
AlphaTech01 (07:24 PM) :
or
AlphaTech01 (07:25 PM) :
send an email to [email protected]
AlphaTech01 (07:25 PM) :
so we can forward it to our network admin
AlphaTech01 (07:25 PM) :
who is doing work on the network at the moment
AdultEUhost - Leon (07:25 PM) :
And my customer got replies from your company:
"We will not allow that hosting company to disrupt our network"
Dear Client,
This should be working now. The reason that it is not connecting to the db is that there is a block in place on the IP range owned by interxs.nl (pornhentai.com [194.126.193.21] is at interxs.nl) due to unethical actions by resellers that negatively effecting our network. We have made some adjustments for this IP to be able to connect to server1325. We have logged in to the st admin page of pornhentai.com and it is now able to connect to the db.

AdultEUhost - Leon (07:27 PM) :

AlphaTech01 (07:27 PM) :
you need to ask it directly to our network admin as he is the one authorizing/implementing IP blocking
AdultEUhost - Leon (07:27 PM) :
