I just recently considered selling advertising space on a TGP/MGP site, but I am new to this. Can anyone give me an idea of what the business model looks like for one of these sites? Do businesses pay per month, or per click for advertising space, whether it be a link or a panel? Can anyone direct me to a tutorial for newbies such as myself? What kinds of standards are in place? What should I avoid?

Yeah I have lots of questions, but let's start with these. Someone throw me a rope here.
