I can't believe you people think this means anything. I will educate you - for those of you who THINK you know something about politics and Canadian history.

Stephen Harper has a minority government that is being threatened by the Liberals and NDP. The fence party is the BLOC Quebecois which probably would support the left (Libs and NDP) during a non-confidence vote, thus forcing Canada into another election.

The Conservatives saved some time and built an alliance by pleasing the French. They just licked the balls of the only party likely to support them enough to hold off a confidence vote and force an election.

What Harper said meant the same thing as saying: Cheddar Cheese COULD be green. But it isn't and never will be.

This solved the Convservatives temporary problems but will cause a major issue down the road. The reason they said such a thing is:
1) The reasons I mentioned about
2) If there was a separation vote, the Conservatives feel it would not pass with a majority vote amoungst Quebecers.

So basically you just fell for it again sheep. Both the English and the French are taking sides thinking this means something when in fact it means jack-shit.
