Minimum payouts are a necessary buffer to alert sponsors to certain types of fraud.
They are also helpful in addressing certain accounting issues that rise up from time to time.
I'm not even gonna go into the whole "earth friendly" tip. :-)
There's also the fact that some programs (well, ok... at least HoDough) have variable minimum payours... it doesn't have to be $100 (which is standard default) you can go as low as $50... you can also set it higher if you wish.
I do agree that, if you're leaving a program, however, and they don't cut you a check for monies owed, that's complete and utter bullshit.
We've had a couple affiliates in my time (for whatever reason) leave our program, and upon contacting us in that regard and their account being terminated, whatever money they're owed is sent to them... minimum payout met or not. That's just good business.
Minimum Payouts just make sense in doing honest business, from my personal perspective... which is why we're all here in the first place.
