Absolutely true about the IRS cracking down on people. I think the adult industry breeds a lot of non-filers (since it seems like a lot of people start in this industry young) or people who think they don't have to report their income because its not (always) being reported on them. I know of a few people within the last 12 months who have had unexpected contact/problems with the IRS.
Lets HOPE this is what all this VISA shit is really about -- collecting revenues. Hopefully they aren't planning on 12 years of Bush (Jebs up next) and trying to make their version of a utopia.
One of my conspiracy theories is that the gov will try to sneak their way into controlling the mail again (USPS has suffered hardcore since email was born). They could do this (control email) by saying that homeland needs to be in charge of a centralized email network -- "All your mail are belong to us" so they can filter it for any terrorist chatter.
However, shortly after they are put into that position, they will probably try to start charging us a per-email fee. Bulk-email will be permitted at that point as well - for a fee of course. And of course they will have demographics on each and every email account (ie minimally, the AGE of the user & you would probably have to OPT-IN to get any adult offers emailed to you.)
I see it happening within 12 years one way or another.
