The best thing you could be for your brother right now is SUPPORTIVE. If being gay were a choice, nobody would choose it. Of all the lifestyles to lead there are none that are more persecuted then gays and lesbians. Why are some people gay and others not? I have no idea.
You should take a trip to Borders or Barnes and Nobles and see if you can't find a book on the subject that'll help to be the best brother possible in this situation.
