Self regulation isn't about appointing anyone police, it is about each of us checking out links twice... not turning away and saying "someone else will handle it" when we see something wrong.

But what you are suggesting is that they should ask for the documents and if they aren't satisfied, kill the domain. I just don't see how you can say that DirectNic should play judge, jury, and executioner, yet not be considered policing the industry.
