That was then, but this is now.
Corel Draw lost about $500,000 in a case where a Corel contest winner used a photo to inspire his graphic that won the competition. The contest winner also lost $250,000 in the same case.
The difference here is that Corel were worth suing. But unless you have been in a large courtcase, I don't think you understand the guarantees you have to put up front before the lawyers will conduct this type of action.
