You're right. That's why I'm enjoying getting involved in the church again, because right now there are many people who agree with what you said and are trying to change things.
One of the best selling books on the Christian book lists is a book by Donald Miller called
Blue Like Jazz. He addresses the very same concerns you have. He basically tells Christians they have no right to condemn anyone, and Christians are reading the book like crazy. With so many million Christians around this is something that will take a long long time to change, but there are those who are trying to do so.
