police have the same "protocol" as reg citizens, they are only supposed to use deadly force if they feel their lives are in danger , simple as that.. there is not protocol that says they must shoot people who have a weapon but dont drop it.. doesn't exist.. chances are very good you will be shot , but there is no protocol for that

wrong , they are trained to wound suspects in certain scenario's, the term" deadly force" implies your shooting to kill , i dont think anyone misunderstands that

i have never heard anybody say the opposite..unfortunatley its not always so cut and dry.. there are lots of different types of weapons.. the recent case of the cops who shot the dude who was about to get married is a prime example.. many in law enforcement would say his car was the weapon thus the shooting is justified when he didnt stop.. but on the flipside the cops were undercover no uniforms the dudes may have thought they were being robbed.. so its not such an easy statement..

Maybe if most cops werent worthless powerhungry trigger happy dipshits it would also make their job easier , but i hardly think thats happening anytime soon
