So you are saying we can only record things from our past that took place while we were here to record it ??? I guess you never heard of things like carbon dating ?

In the documentary, which I guess you have never seen, they used a very common method amoung the scientific community which is drilling holes deep into the ice and getting ice cores which contain information from millions of years ago.
