He put his ass on the line (quite literally) a few years back to try to earn a spot in the industry. Doesn't that make him part of the industry?
He goes to conventions and actually pays for his own ticket and his own room which is more than a lot of people supposedly in this industry do.
And in the long run, even if he is "just" a surfer. Isn't the surfer actually the most important person in the adult industry?
I do not like Lawrence Connor, I am not an LC supporter. But, inmho, he has paid his dues.

LC is in fact a webmaster and a member of the adult industry. He does in fact send a small amount of traffic to a few programs. However, his actions on GFY have caused him to be banned on a regular basis. Now every time he signs up we just ban him.
