I heard a similar joke years ago, that all that would be left after a nuclear holocaust would be cockroaches, twinkies, and Cher.
The rebuilding process would lead to a world populated by tiny Chers raised on twinkies and radioactive water, with hard exoskeletons, green insides, and the ability to scurry very, very loudly across solid surfaces.
