What 'development' are you referring to? C++ GUI Programming?
If you have one of the new Intel Apple computers, just boot it up in XP using Bootcamp (or use Parallels within OSX) and do your development in windows. Or you can boot in XP and see how IE7 looks with your design, or graphic 'development' appears to windows users.
Note: running XP doesn't involve emulation or any kludgy nonsense like that.
