I'm looking at the same report as you are, but you have to realize that we're viewing the conditions for South Lake Tahoe City and not the physical mountain which differs by an elevation of around 4,000 feet. That's a big altitude differential and weather can change drastically as you get higher. We've all seen this as we start off with decent conditions at the base, only to be met with Antarctica as we ride up the chair.
I do think we'll see a good amount of rain, especially as this low-pressure tropical pattern moves in towards mid-week. But that rain will turn to snow as the temperature drops at night. Will be nice to wake up to fresh powder.
Only the powers above can truly predict what's going to happen. I've lost track of how many times our local weather "expert" has been completely wrong. And in California these days, anything is possible.
