congratulations on making the decision to quit! and good luck continuing doing an excellent job at it!
i smoked about two packs a day (ugh) for about five or so years. i cannot belive how much i used to smoke, now that i don't at all! i quit cold turkey, sort of the same way that you did, without any assistance/aids/etc. it was a little bit easier though because i was moving from my apartment where i could smoke as much as i wanted to, whenever i wanted to, and into my fiance's house, which he did not smoke in. i got real tired of going outside or in the garage if i wanted to have a quick smoke.
there are times that i wish i had a cigarette, i think just because of the habits i made when i was a smoker. for example, if i ever got too full from a meal, i used to have a "digestion" cigarette.

or sometimes i liked to smoke while reading, for some reason. but i haven't gone back to the dark side yet and i don't think i ever will! now i'm old enough to worry about health risks, and the money spent on cigarettes. before, i was just young and having fun.
