Ill throw one out, although I understand im disqualified
My first show, Phoenix Forum 2002 at the Millennium Resort. I walk out to the opening reception with the CCBill sales guys (Sean, Doug, Jeff, Andy). 3 seconds later, they all see clients they know and walk over and start chatting with them. Im standing there by myself, knowing nobody there, and was feeling a little awkward. I ended up talking to Hank from Mr Skin, about various things, including how important cameras are at parties, for over an hour, really nice guy. He was the first person that I really got to know, and I appreciate him going out of his way to introduce himself to me and invite me to sit down to talk.
At that same show, I had a chance to hang out with Tim (Tadow) and Brett J from Dormangels, they stayed at my place. Great guys, very smart. It was that weekend that that I realized how amazing it was how much more you understand how the various facets of this industry interact, after spending time talking to a range of people about their respective businesses at a conference like this.
