btw, macs offer a great package in terms of compatibility and usability. i have a mac pro dual 2.66GHz xeon w/ 8GB memory and its really nice to have that much ram to play w/... and the top end memory limit is 16GBs. show me a windows xp machine that can handle that kind of memory, there isn't one... the only Windows OS that can handle more than 2GB (3GB w/ the /3GB switch) is the server flavor, and it doesn't handle large pages very well..

Although I am a steadfast Mac fan, I also have a windows machine (Athlon 1.1 ghz ,5 years old) that still runs winXP just fine. But I will correct you on one thing. Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit edition can handle up to 8gigs of ram. However, it will have even LESS driver support than Vista already has. But at least you have another option other than Server Edition.
