For the weekdays (slow tree bashing I choose Burton... Lighter board and much better self tooning (sp?)
For a weekend with the boyz then I choose a Ross (well of the two you mentioned)

I would not buy a board untill you find an shop that allows you to take a model on the mountain... If you are near a snow freak community then you will find one...
