You will never meet an orthodox jew who supports zionism in anyway, and 99% reject the creation of the state of israel. Most religions, even christianity, resources alot from judiasm from the old testament, including the so called 10 commandments. Judism follows 613 commandments - which is why ultra orthodox jews look the way they do, do the things they do, and oppose the creation of the state of israel. conservative is a middle ground, essentially orthodox but with adherance to the changes to the new world we live in. And lastly is reformed, jews inter marrying, getting tatoos, eating pork, etc. Most zionist backing are reformed, and some conservative. I don't support zionism, but i support my fellow jews. Being conservative, my gf is converting so we can wed, i've never eaten pork, etc.

As for the hate, ask any armenian if they like turks? They'll get pissed. Jews feel the same way about anti-semetic people. Most of their views focus on either we're different (orthodox) or we're all zionists. So we're fucked both ways... and that's why zionism exists, people over the centuries never let us be.

The bottom line is this. Everyone is entitled to their own ideas. If you're interested, read the 613 laws (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mizvot) - and you'll see alot of what was determined 5000 years ago still applies to many aspects of other religions, democratic society, and much more. Some maybe overkill in the aspect of common sense (ie, don't fuck your mother lol). But then again... is common sense really common?
good sum
