Which is a lovely theory, but in reality lots of sponsors show outdated ICQ details or at best reply in a day or two... and then often tell you to send them an email
The ones which drive me nuts the most are those who don't even display your details, but require you to quote the old details in order to have them changed. Even to check your info is up to date, you have to hope they will respond to an email asking for confirmation of what is on file.
The anti-hacking issue doesn't really hold water in most cases, because the way the vast majority handle changes by email, icq or even 'phone, the information I can see onscreen includes everything to have the change put through by some other means. In other words, the account is no less vulnerable, just less convenient.
