but then again, in my idea world, people are also selected for life after passing a rigorous test that includes medical exams, i.q. testing and general personality testing. to have kids, they have to go through extensive training to qualify and be certified (with continual recertification tests) and afterwards, they are monitored and there will be major penalities for the failure of a child - which will be deemed as absolute proof of the failure of the parent and their ultimate act of selfishness in creating one more tax drain on society.

so much for freedom i guess? while i can agree there are many people out there who should not be parents, there have been a lot of amazing people who came from fucked up backgrounds. and if everyone was reasonable and rational all the time many things we use every day would never of been invented.
