you are correct. He is being punished for what he said. They aren't telling him he can't say what he said, they are just telling him he can't say what he said on their channel. Do I find it hypocritical? Sure. They have other controversial people on, but there were big companies like Staples pulling their ads from his show. They mad a business decision and dumped him.
He is still free to say whatever he wants, but MSNBC isn't required by law to provide him a platform.
