A clogged drain sparked an investigation that led to a surprising discovery in Adams County, Indiana, on Monday where they discovered the remains of a dead 7-foot 120-pound alligator.
Adams County Deputy Larry Butler, said in an interview that the 120-pound alligator, which had been dead for about a week, was put inside the drain after it died.
Currently the sheriff's department as well as the Department of Natural resources are searching for the owner. Despite it being legal to own alligators in Indiana, the state does require a permit for those that are over 5-feet.
