I 100% agree with you about people not realizing that they are at the mercy of the legal system of the countries they travel to.

But I think its 100% wrong to take the attitude of "Well, he went and lived there so he was asking for it and now he has to accept the consequences."

AGAIN ...assuming that the facts are in fact how they are being presented....then its nothing short of a tragedy
