I forget where I saw this discussed (one of the science shows about 10 years ago), but the guy doing the show was talking about gravity as a "weak force." He said something like, "When you see that gravity holds you to the earth, that it makes buildings collapse, and so on, it may seem like a strong force. However, with a small amount of electricity from a couple AA batteries, I can rig up a device which will bury this pen in the wallboard across the room." Then he held the pen up about a foot over his desk and dropped it. "However, it takes a rock the size of the earth to make this pen do that."
