I never done this, but bein an AOL member for several years I kinda figured the whole scam.
Basically these kids 'fish' for AOL n00bs so they can dupe account info from them. SOme ways are by sending emails that look official, instructing a user to go to a fake aol page to enter info. Other ways are sending viruses that when opened, will send the virus to the email of each person you are currently in conversation with on AIM.
Once the account info is obtained, they use others AOL accounts to spam chat rooms and emails, and to <>< for more accounts. These guys end up getting so many accounts that when one is frozen, they have hundreds to go play with and start all over. They are doing all this to advert porn. Just another reason this industry gets shitted on.
