That's sort of what I had asked earlier. But Rand failed to see the logic in this question when I asked it. At least I know its not just me that is still a little unclear about ePassporte:

To me it would seem that ePassporte could circumvent Visa regulations. Pretty simple logic there...

Here's the scenario:

Consumer-A clicks a link on Merchant-A website that sais
"Join using funds in your ePassporte Account."

[assuming consumer-a already has an account]

Consumer-A gets a screen to authrozie an xfer or recurring
xfers from Consumer-A's ePassporte account to Merchant-A's ePassporte account.

There. We just circumvented VISA & IPSPs. One ePassporte holder chose to pay another ePassporte holder. THIS is why I was asking Rand if how long it would last, and how visa would feel about it. I thought it could be used like this.

I guess its the same thing with Paypal though. They have a different way of processing rebills and adult content than the normal P2P way. It's like it circumvents the whole P2P thing there. Because if it was true P2P, or P2B, maybe I'm missing something we wouldn't need epoch at all. You would just have a button on your site sayign your site accpets the ePassporte payment solution & here's why they should use it[list reasons] and that its easily fundable by using their visa and mastercards.

But I guess there are regulations and red tape in the CC industry that prevent it from working like this. But we (the merchants/webmasters) don't know this.. to us it just seems like the most direct route.

Anyway I'm still curious about the ePassporte REBILLING issue though.. I think a couple people have asked about it now (myself included) but I haven't seen an answer....

Does ePassporte try to auto-load itself if the customer has committed to a rebill but the epassporte account does not have enough money to cover the amount due? OR will it send a warning email or something to the epassporte customer to let them know they have a pending transaction or something of the sort.
