When I moved into my place, I did a walkaround with the manager noting every scratch, bump, ding etc. which he agreed in writing as being pre-existing conditions. I think thats fairly standard. And you bet I have my copy saved in a safe place.
Cuz you know the day I move out they'll claim I put the scratch in my countertop, and I'll say O'Rly? and whip out my exemptions.
