A few years ago I managed the complaints department for a large contract call centre, more than 800 call staff and thousands and thousands of calls a day about a diverse range of products and companies. It is inevitable that with a volume like that that there are going to be compaints, and they all had to be logged, followed up and analyzed to find potential ways to streamline the handling of complaint resolution process. Bear in mind that this is an industrial setting, that would be similar to the call centre at a large billing company, and not a tech support line. There were "grades" of complaints, and those of the worst grade and the longest hold time were all made by women. Women also spent a significantly higher propotion of time speaking as opposed to listening to solutions.
