I think its a big bubble, there is no way you can cross sell those membersship thats are recurring to $40 and not have chargebacks.

no fucking way.

Soon.. most of these merchants will be losing their sponsored merchant status and blacklisted forever from visa/mc.

my opnion.
MrBling,

Let me address your concerns one at a time. I'm wondering why you would start a thread like this... but since you have....

1) it increases sales

Damn straight. It does this by design. That's why we did it. Any questions?

2) now everybody is on their own 'ipsp" account, so its not EPOCH's merchant account who gets termianted, its the sponsored merchant.

Incorrect. Epoch is an IPSP. All Epoch clients are sponsord merchants. Epoch is still taking on the bulk of the risk. The difference with the new Visa reg's is that tracking is more efficient so those programs operating like loose cannons are easier to track. Keep you biz legit and you shouldn't have any problems.

3) it increases sales thereby makes webmasters use more epoch then other companies like ccbill.

That's right! This is business. We're here to make $$$ just like you are. It's not for our helath. We provide advantages that other billing companies do not. That's called a competitive edge.

4) they now have the worst chargeback attraction features like
a. free trials

Free Trials are not a problem if done correctly. The problem with them in the past is that they did not have proper disclosure. They do now or they don't get to play. But beleive it or not, the best conversions are still on paid trials. 3 days converts the best.

b. cross sells

What's wrong with cross sells. If someone wants to buy something else as a special offer, why not let them? I've seen this model all over the Internet on non-adult sites. Don't trick your customer, entice them. Cross sells are little more than a limited version of a shopping cart. They work. As a matter of fact, they work better than you might imagine which is why you find lots of programs wanting to play. Here are a few willing to buy your cross sell traffic: http://www.epochsystems.com/ezclickbuyers/

c. other weird billing methods

Hmmmm. Define weird.

Don't be a hater. We don't force these features on anyone and they are subject to being changed or revoked from any company that tries to abuse the tools we offer or if their credit / chargeback ratios get too high. We have the ability to kill any program on the fly if we feel it is necessary to protect our accounts and our merchant portfolio. The big picture and the greater good will always prevail over any program which tries to use our features in a way which is deceptive. Disclosure is the key to any billing metod. Understandable, readable, common sense disclosure. Keeps Visa, MC, the banks, the FTC, and the surfers much happier. Happy customers stay longer.

Anyone who has questions about what we offer shoud check out
