Yeah, my mother sent some money (I don't know how much, at least a few hundred dollars) to some "psychic" in Germany. Supposedly he is a gold prospector and needs some money to invest in a machine to help him find gold...
... my jaw dropped when I heard that. She knows about the Nigerian scams but I still worry about her sometimes. :/
I remember two people tried to scam me when I advertised tutoring services online last year. They were out of the country and were sending their kids here to study. Their emails sounded so suspicious that I didn't even reply. Turns out it's a fairly common scam.
