heh, not real slight amounts, large amounts!
a lot of beverages did before the pure food and drug act of 1906 required labeling of ingredients.
I think the company that eventually became 7-up had lithium in it. Cocaine, morphine and other drugs were in many medications that were available over the counter. I can't say I've confirmed it anywhere, but a reliable source told me that coca cola still uses coca leaves to add flavor to their drink - except all of the cocaine has been extracted from it already.
I also heard that the only pharmaceutical house in the country that produces cocaine has some sort of relationship with coca cola.
I guess this would explain that trace amounts have been found in their drinks in recent times.
